This research aims to:
1) evaluate the effective incidence of influenza in children in relation to their age, as a cause of illness and hospitalisation;
2) quantify the weight and severity of influenza both on a medical level and on a social and economic level as a cause of illness in children of different ages.
The objectives will be achieved through:
1. a prospective longitudinal observational study of all children under the age of 14 who will present in the Emergency Department of the Research Units involved for flu-like pathologies;
2. a prospective observational study of all patients under the age of 14 followed by paediatricians belonging to the Pedianet network
