The creation of the database started in January 2000, and lasted 3 years while undergoing a test period. 
In August 2007, 130 family pediatricians throughout the country had been adequately trained and were participating in the project, regularly sending information on their activities. 

Currently the database has information on: 

- 500.000 children in follow up
- 8.000.000 encounters
- 6.600.000 diagnosis
- 4.740.000 drug prescriptions
- 680.000 specialistic referrals
- 60.000 hospital admissions
